Yes, it IS possible to stop having the same fight over and over.
Welcome! I hold a Master of Science in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling. I have advanced training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and in treating infidelity. It is my absolute honor to help couples and individuals experience peace and clarity.
With couples, I utilize EFT to get to the emotional root of miscommunications and stop automatic negative reactions (going from zero to sixty). These reactions form negative patterns, and even though partners can have deep love for one another, they cannot stop these recurring fights. After feeling hurt, alone, disrespected or misunderstood, walls go up and it seems that you can no longer trust one another with your most vulnerable selves. In my office, you’ll work to hear one another without becoming defensive or shutting down, rebuild emotional safety, communicate fears and needs, and repair past attachment wounds. I have a special interest in working with infidelity and emotional affairs, helping couples navigate cultural/racial/ethnic/religious differences and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
With individual clients, we explore how anxiety, depression, negative relationships, work stress, family conflict or difficult life transitions are keeping you from living your most fulfilling life.
We process the fears and past hurts that are causing you to doubt yourself in relationships or at work. My hope is that you will feel empowered with tools from a variety of modalities to quiet the incessant negativity and feel confident in your decisions.
In addition to my clinical training, my ten years of marriage, experience teaching in Honduras and Vietnam, and working with immigrant and refugee populations in Minnesota also enrich my practice.
