Focused on learning how to provide high quality couples therapy using EFT
Internship Program

Minnesota Couple Therapy Center (MnCTC) offers practicum/internship opportunities to those in graduate school that are specifically passionate about couples work, attachment theory, and learning Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Interns will get the opportunity to shadow at least one EFT therapist providing EFT to at least a few couples throughout their entire internship, allowing them to see how EFT progresses throughout treatment. After the first weekend of Core Skills, interns start seeing their own couples, while receiving regular, supportive supervision. MCTC has four supervisors that interns work with, with one being assigned as their primary supervisor...

We expect our interns to commit to attending the 4-day EFT Externship put on each September and Core Skills. Core Skills is an advanced EFT training consisting of 48 hours of training over 4 weekends (Fridays and Saturdays) starting a month or two after the Externship each fall. We do pay for the training for our interns (over a $2,000+ value!).

We accept 3-4 interns per year. We ask for a year long commitment starting in September of each year. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis starting on December 15th each year. We start interviewing in early January.

Our interns are expected to see 10 clients per week, in addition to shadowing at least one other EFT therapist a few hours per week as well. If an intern would like to see more than 10 clients per week, they will get paid $20 per session. Intern choosing to work more than 10 clients per week will be considered independent contractors and will receive a 1099 at the end of each calendar year.
