Our Values
loving and being loved is the most profound and meaningful human experience

We believe that loving and being loved is the most profound and meaningful human experience and a powerful source of comfort, resilience, and healing. We desire to see this for our clients and in our society.
We are dedicated to creating an environment where everyone is safe, cared for, and can form bonds of attached connection with others. We are committed to ethical and effective care. We seek to understand our own family histories and attachment experiences, as well as the cultural and societal contexts we are shaped by. We want to understand what our families and our society have taught us about ourselves, our loved ones, and others of different backgrounds, and how larger social systems shape both our lives and the lives of those we care about.
We commit ourselves to justice and equity in our own lives and in our communities. This means we stand against discrimination and marginalization of any person due to their race, ethnic or national origin, religion, sexual orientation or gender expression, age, class, mental or physical health or abilities, and we are committed to actively working against systemic inequity. We believe that equity is the foundation of justice, and we support this for all members of our community. We value healing relationships, and acknowledge that all of us have common needs for connection and support. We have a wide variety of experiences and expertise working with a diverse set of clients, and are committed to principles of inclusion and equity in our practices.
“We hurt in relationship and we heal in relationship and relationship with ourselves and others is the foundation of how we impact the world at large.” Christine Meland, LICSW
