I have a passion for helping people make positive, meaningful changes in their lives. I am kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I understand that we all have strengths and we have all made mistakes in our lives. We come from different backgrounds and have different experiences which shape who we are and how we navigate our worlds. Many systems impact our lives including our families, work environments, schools, neighborhoods, culture, faith communities, and societal systems, which I take into consideration.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Minnesota (license # 2716) and North Dakota (license #2021-078). I am particularly interested in providing relational therapy to partners, and working with individuals who are facing grief, loss, and end of life concerns.

My work with partners is based on the premise that human beings are wired for connection. I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy which was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson. Using EFT, I help partners identify patterns of interaction that create conflict, discover and explore the feelings that feed into those patterns, and create new interactions that foster safe, healthy connections. This is an effective evidenced-based model for people who have addressed concerns in the past, learned and used skills to address conflict, and still find themselves stuck in patterns of interactions that are painful.

My educational background includes a masters degree in Psychology from Adler Graduate School and a bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota in Child Development and Criminal Justice. My professional experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families in an office setting, client's homes, schools, and communities. I have worked with families involved in Child Protection and adolescents involved in the criminal justice system.
