About Me
Hello! I know it is difficult to open up to a stranger. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am originally from Bulgaria. Coming from a different country, I know personally the challenges of being different. I bring this knowledge into therapy with me. Outside of my practice, I enjoy dancing International Folk dances and Argentine Tango. I consider dance my mindfulness practice.

Education
I have a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria. I came to the United States to pursue my dream of becoming a marriage and family therapist. I was able to follow that dream by attending the University of Wisconsin-Stout and receiving a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 2001 and I am happy to report I continue following my dream!

Clinical Experience
My clinical experience involves working with individuals, couples, and families, struggling with: Anxiety, Binge Eating and Emotional Eating, Depression, Grief and Loss, Trauma, Parenting Challenges, Lack of Emotional Connection, Sexual Concerns, Infidelity, and Divorce.

Therapy Approaches
In my work with individuals I focus on healing trauma and attachment wounds, and use EMDR. I am also trained in and use Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which utilizes mindfulness and body awareness. In my couple’s work I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which is an experiential approach that is effective with 90% of the couples in reducing their distress.
