Family Therapy
Relationship counseling and therapy for the whole family

Families can take many different forms, but they are where we get most of our emotional support and connection. In spite of everyone’s efforts, however, families may struggle with difficult or broken relationships. You might be experiencing:
- Communication breakdowns: Misunderstandings and poor listening leading to frustration and distance.
- Frequent conflicts: Arguments that escalate or repeat over and over without resolution, creating an angry, tense home life.
- Major life changes: Events like moving, illness, divorce or loss can disrupt family relationships and expectations.
- Parenting struggles: Differences in discipline styles or challenges with children’s behavior can cause stress.
- Blended families: Balancing the needs, desires, and emotions of all the family’s members can be difficult.
- Emotional distance: Family members may feel disconnected or unsupported.
In family therapy, one of our expert therapists will work with members of your family as you meet together. It might be parents and a teen, adult family members who want to improve their relationship, or a stepdad and his step children. Unlike individual therapy, which focuses on one person, family therapy looks at the family as a system. Your therapist will help you recognize that each member influences others and can help address problems arising from patterns of interaction rather than just individual issues.
Your therapist will help your family identify and help heal unhealthy communication styles, unresolved conflicts and arguments, and emotional barriers. Sessions provide a safe space for everyone to express their feelings, really listen to each other, and learn new ways of relating to one another. Our goal is to improve understanding, cooperation, and emotional support for all the members of your family. Working with your therapist, your family bonds can be deepened and strengthened, and your home can be a safer harbor for all members.
