Having gained experience in a variety of therapeutic and behavioral settings over the last 20 years, I have learned that life can become overwhelming for any of us at a moment's notice. I enjoy tailoring my therapeutic approach to each client’s needs with the goal of increasing their emotional comfort, enhancing emotional regulation and assisting with creating meaning out of life’s biggest challenges.
I strive to create a warm and welcoming space that is free from judgement where the people I support can feel safe to explore current and past traumas, difficult family situations or interpersonal conflicts. I enjoy partnering with my clients in the discovery of their often hidden strengths so that those strengths can be used to move through a variety of difficulties.
While away from the office I enjoy partaking in my love for the outdoors whether it's solo mountain biking, paddling or taking my family of 4 camping. In addition, I can often be found reading the most recent research on human development or getting lost in a fictional book. I take pride in speaking Ojibwe with my two children and long term partner along with being a part of the greater Ojibwe language revitalization community.
I graduated in 2011 with a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota - Duluth. I enjoy blending a variety of different therapeutic approaches and have specific training in the following methodologies; Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Positive Psychology, Psychoeducational, Mindfulness, Crisis Prevention and Intervention, Restorative Justice, Men’s issues, Parts work, the Tools and I am a Heroic life coach.
